Don't panic! This happens to me too if I go from dark brown to light blonde sometimes. IT is because the bleach was not left in long enough.
When you bleach, you hair goes from dark, to reddish, to copper, to yellow to light blonde... they stopped too early.
It is UNFORGIVABLE that a salon makes this mistake though (I bleach mine at home!)
You have paid for a service (to get your hair bright blonde) if they accepted your money, they should deliver what you asked.
You are in your rights to go back and demand that they fix it. One way or another. WITHOUT damaging your hair!

Why didn't you dye it golden brown ? It compliments and brightens your skin without taking it to the extreme, then when the roots come out it won't look bad and most women who have natural dark brown hair shouldn't dye it blonde because it usually doesn't suit them. Also brown hair with golden highlights looks really classy.
Trust me, I had really nice hair and a very nice colour with natural highlights. I dyed it to make it a bit lighter and I noticed that brown didn't work at all, so I chose a golden blonde, When it grew out I changed my hair to black, that made me look like a 'junkie' and a 'goth' according to my sister and I looked 'as dead as a dodo' were her words. Then I went from light to dark 20 times over, now I have left my natural hair growing at the roots and black at the bottom, even though it doesn't match my hair colour at the top. Bcak to being a 'junkie' for the time being.I can't be bothered anymore. I have no option but to let it grow out. I know you said you don't go crazy but don't get stuck in a cycle of bleaching and changing your hair colour.
Complain to the salon.

you could eitehr danger bleaching it lower back, your hair would turn frizzy, fallout or nevertheless no longer finally end up being the blonde you pick you could wait some days - 2 weeks, then bleach it lower back. it is what hairdressers propose you do, yet youll would desire to stay as an orange head or you could tone it now, to rid of the orangeyy tint and rebleach it lower back in some weeks

The hairdresser who did the orange should fix the job if you do not like it.. I once helped color the hair of a friend while in a dorm many years ago. She had bought the blonde kit herself and asked us to put the color on her hair. I remember her hair turned orange and we all said "Your hair looks scary" but she loved it.

wow, they should have tested a piece of your hair to see the lightest it would go, not all hair can go to blonde in one process. who's your hairdresser?
you should wait, at the very least, 2 weeks before dying your hair, any sooner would leave it completely damaged
until then...i'm sorry about the orange, same exact thing happened to me

Usually that happens to people with thick black hair (like most East Asians), not brown hair -- you just have to bleach it again. Rough on the hair though.

Bleach it again - you need a strong agent to go from brown to blonde . . .
