We need a muzzle for taking our bulldog to the vet. He has a skin condition left over from his previous owner & is at the vet several times a year. He gets snippy when they have to clean his ears, ect.

You should never muzzle a bulldog. Their noses are way to short and they breathe through their mouth most of the times. If he gets snippy, they should have assistants handy to restrain him. If the employees are trained to restrain correctly, your bulldog will be able to breath and the vet will be able to look and clean the ears without getting bit. If he really needs to be muzzled- look for the basket muzzle kind. It covers the entire mouth and nose, but allows the dog to pant and drink water if needed. You can see some police dogs wearing them.

We have a bulldog also, he has bad skin too, but never any problems biting. He's sooooo used to being messed with, with the ears, tail, eye fold, feet fold, etc. cleaning, but I'm sure that after he's in your care for awhile, he'll stop this, but in the mean time...our groomer has a problem with one particular bulldog with biting while she's getting groomed. She puts a towel over her head and holds it tight under her neck. It seems to work fine, I really doubt they make a muzzle for bulldogs!! Good luck!!

I'm doing basic obedience right now. My trainer hasn't once handled my dog. He has shown me how to handle my dog by using his own dog but that's about it. The reasoning is that I need to learn how to do these basic corrections and what not myself. Learn more https://tinyurl.im/6L1IP

I have never considered sending my dog away for training. I guess I haven't found that much of a problem with him to even think about it.

Again, it may also have to do with the level of training you are looking for etc. No idea lol. I'm not a trainer. I think a first time dog owner needs to learn simple commands and how to handle their dog themselves as well.
