easy good stuff:

fettucinni alfredo:
buy alfredo sauce in a jar, boil noodles. pour in, stir. yum

pizza:
buy a frozen pizza. bake. yummy.
buy a pre-cooked one. serve it. yummy.

tostadas:
get tostada shells at the store. spread refries beans on and sprinkle a lot of cheese on top. then bake them till the cheese melts. have layed out salsa, lettuce, diced tomatos, and sour cream and let them pile on the toppings.

A Simple dessert:

saucepan cookies:
mix 1 cup of corn syrup and 1 cup of sugar and then boil it. remove from heat and stir in 1 and1/2 cups of peanut butter and 5 cups of corn flakes. spread in a big lasagna dish and let it cool. so addictively yummy.

Go to your local deli. Have them slice some ham, turkey, roast beef etc. Have them slice a Swiss cheese and an American or muenster. Pick up some pints of different salads: Potato, Pasta etc. Then go to the bakery section and pick up some nice soft rolls. Go to the produce department and pick up a crudite platter(carrots, celery, peppers, olives with dip etc.) Pick up some lettuce, tomatoes, and onions for the sandwiches. Then make sure that you have the correct condiments for the meats. Some people like some crunch with their meals. Pick up some gourmet chips.
Maybe pick up some cookies from the bakery for desert. I would have some iced tea and some soft drinks. Depending on your guests, you might want some wine. You might even want to pick up a few soft cheeses and some nice crackers (Carr's etc,)
Arrange the meat, cheeses, toppings etc on a platter. Let everyone make their own sandwiches. You could also pick up some chicken salad (sometimes they have yummy exotic ones).
Put the salads in separate bowls. Very easy and everyone will be happy. No cooking!
I hope this helped,
Have fun!

How about a nice Hawaiian chicken salad? Tossed mixed greens with strips of grilled chicken. Add in some mandarin orange segments, pineapple chunks, cherry tomatoes, seedless grapes or raisins and any other similar things you like. Cover generously with toasted coconut. Use a sweet and sour dressing. Have a side plate of a nice, large muffin (banana nut would be good, but pistachio is nice, too). Have a brewed sweet tea. This is a great taste of the tropics in the dead of winter. Sure to make them smile. Quick and easy, too.

INGREDIENTS: Chicken Jumble
1 tablespoon butter
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
1 (16 ounce) package frozen mixed vegetables, thawed
2 (16 ounce) cans Italian-style diced tomatoes, drained

DIRECTIONS:
1.Melt butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium high heat. Add chicken and saute for about 4 to 5 minutes, until lightly browned. Add mixed vegetables and tomatoes, reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and no longer pink inside.

It's healthy and tasty and not to mention easy and fast

Depends on how much time you have. Do you know what they like? I think everybody likes pizza, but some people are no carb, try making some chili. That is quick and easy. Or go with subway sandwiches. Yum. check with your folks, see what they like, in case anyone has any allergies...
