He's always claimed to listen to his generals, but he's not interested in any honest opinions, so in order to tell the truth, he needs "yes" men in place, so those who are informed and have expert opinions to share must leave.

I think not! New high level management, fresh out of war college, will undoubtedly employ new ideas, new techniques, new esprit de corp and motivation.

If Casey and Abizaid were doing such a bad job, would GWB promote Casey to Joints Chief of Staff for the Army? Hey, generals get rotated too, it's not just a privilege for the non-coms and subordinate ranks.

GWB is revered by many in the military. This becomes evident when he walks through a hospital ward filled with casualties of this war. This is something you would have never seen with the last nimrod who filled that job.

If you're looking for someone to criticize, just look around the democratic party and see all these so called, new found leaders. It's enough to make you vomit all over yourself!

first of all i would hesitate to believe that the situation on the ground is as severe as it is being painted to be. its a very confusing situation for several reasons but namely because so many conflicting ideas are being thrown at it in an attemp to do just that. Remember , if its vietnam all over again as some suggest it is only in retrospect to the fact that many of the same entities are working together to see that the American People dont come together on this issue and develope a majority stance . George Bush' decision to go into Iraq was and still is a noble one . To create a catalyst for change and a haven for capitalism could only benifit us as Americans if it is successful . Yes we have lost soldiers and its a terrible price to pay to lose even one , but the situation was ugly from the start and war is never glamourous . i dont know that these generals are being replaced simply because they disagree with the President and neither does anyone else on the outside. Its pure speculation

I believe that Bush is isolated from reality. At the same time the same Generals have been around for quites a while. I have been hearing the name Abizaid for almost 10 years and i think it is time for a change. personally he should get rid of all the Generals and make some Colonels or Brigadiers in charge.

He is replacing two Generals with with those that have just as much only different types of experience. This is not uncommon. The military is still very much behind this president, don't worry your head about that. It could also be that the mission will require more time than the outgoing generals have to give. Most would consider getting out of Iraq a promotion.

The current generals have been there for a WHILE and the situation hasn't gotten any better. It's not only time for a change its LONG over due. And those he has replaced them with have intimately involved in this war for years so saying they know nothing about the situation is laughable.

Take a look at the normal rotation period for these billets. Tell me how long the previous General held that billet, then you will have an answer why they are being replaced.

Give it a rest. The man cannot even blink without someone cracking a joke at his expense and calling him names, or else attributing it to some conspiracy. Face it, no matter what he does right, you are going to find fault with him because of your hatred.
He could persuade your employer to raise your wages and you'd still criticize him. He makes mistakes but he's not the slimeball you all make him out to be.
