I lost my beloved cat Bagheera on 22/11/06 and really have just been waiting for another stray to turn up looking for me! (all my cats have just "arrived")..I was just looking at my boys casket and saying "I miss you mate" when a little black and white face peered round the corner of my door! A beautiful skinny "felix" cat!
He is now sitting beside me eating some food...OK he may not be a stray, but boy does my house feel like a home again! He is welcome back anytime!

Have never seen him in our cul-de-sac before. Baggy used to bring all his mates home and he wasnt one of them! He is very skinny and ate the food I gave him and he is now snuggled outside my backdoor in the hedgehog box! I am off out so will see if he comes by again tomorrow.

Wow - of course you should feed him each time. Sounds like Bagheera knew you were sad and missing him so has sent you a new little friend. I hope he is a stray and stays with you xxx

Having almost lost one of my cats to someone else feeding them I would say no. Attach a note to its collar with your number on saying that he has been visiting and your not sure if he has a home. Ask them to call you to put your mind at rest. If no response to the note then he may be a stray. Contact your local rescue centre and let them know that you are taking him in but if an owner comes forward asking for him then you will have to give him back.
Seriously - if you want a new cat don't nick other peoples, go down to a local rescue centre and get one from there. They are all desperate for homes and want to get out of the temporary cages they are in to get cuddles from a proper home.

that is spooky!! I think you should feed him since he is skinny. I guess you could put up a sign saying "found kitten" or look for a lost kitten sign that matches. otherwise, you've got a new friend!! I really like the black & white ones! I have 3 boys right now!
(regarding the lovely picture... some people obviously have too much time on their hands...)

cats can be very fickle.
maybe he belongs to someone else and they miss him.
Feed him, sure, unless it becomes obvious that he's getting far too much food - at your house plus his "other" home.
Why not put a collar on him with a note to any other potential owner? Between you, you could make sure he doesn't turn into the kitty equivalent of Jabba the Hutt through overfeeding.

If you want the cat to stay or continue coming back, then yes, you should feed it and show that you mean it no harm. However, if he belongs to someone else, you really need to find his real home, it is only fair for his owners.
I am sorry for your cat, I know what it feels like to lose one.

what if he belongs to someone, you will be depriving them of their pet. I would still feed him mind, but i would also ask around to find out if anybody owns him before completely adopting him.
I hope it all works out, my cat died on boxing day, id had him nearly 20 years, my first memory was getting him , so i can sympathise with you loss.
