ok great ideas so far. a couple notes :)
they have actually been trying to stop the flea collar thing, the chemicals are not safe for human skin, and even if they wear them over their pants there are still toxic side effects... there was a big press release concerning this a while ago.
they actually don't need stamps, so don't waste your money (they just write free in the spot where you'd normally place a stamp)
do not send alcohol. it is a serious violation, my brother just got busted back down to a private because he was being dumb and drinking... can you live off of a big jump down in pay?
militarywives.com and anysoldier.com also have some very good lists.

I would send drink mix - like Crystal Light or gatorade powder. Drinking plain water gets to you after a while. Also non-perishable snacks. And word/Soduko puzzles.

Black socks, baby wipes (to take what they call a "whores bath"), beef jerky, individually wrapped hard candy, powdered gatorade, toilet paper (some soft stuff), gum, Mrs. Dash (or other spices), tabasco (food aint the greatest there), coffee (ground, individual, and vacuum packed), and a couple mini bottles of liquor. You know, things we take for granted while here! lol

Personal care items like baby powder, razors, shaving cream, floss, toothbrushes, deodorant, and soap are good. Black socks would be good. An extra PT shirt or two.
Maybe a good book.

I send my husband things he likes, like candy that doesn't melt, beef jerkey, stuff like that. He also like gatorade powder to mix with water.
Also, it's a good idea to send lotion and chap stick. They really go through it over there!
