I'm getting my hair relaxed today, and I have chronic dandruff, and my scalp is itching, so it usually burns. What can I do to make it not burn, I'm having it professionally done, and the lady that does my hair does it very slowly. So the base stuff wears off. Is there anything I can use to make it not burn as bad, for today?

Dont allow her to let the application process take more than 15-20 minutes. Have her keep a can of oil sheen spray nearby, she can spray your scalp at first sign of any itching before it begins to burn. Many of the relaxers for sensitive scalp are really good for not burning. If she is basing your scalp with petroleum based product (such as vasoline) it should not wear off! This is strange, she must be taking way way too long. If this is the case, she will break off of your hair off.
Also make sure you dont scratch or wash your hair for 24 hours before your relaxer. If you already scratched, reschedule.
Good Luck!

First of all, do not brush your scalp or scratch it in any way for at least 2 days prior to your salon visit.

Go to a dermatologist and cure your dandruff. It is curable, and you will feel and look better. Relaxer is an extremely strong chemical to apply to an already irritated scalp.

Make sure your hair dresser is using regular instead of super.. but most of all you need to see a dermatologist to get rid of the dandruff and itchy scalp.

I have used Cholesterol treatment in place of Vaseline. Talk with your doctor but do be careful combing your hair before relaxing your hair- don't brush it for days before the relaxing.
