In the book of Leviticus, chapter 11, v. 7, it is recorded that God declares the pig to be unclean for believers. Then, in
verse 8, God says: “You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you”. This command is
repeated in Deuteronomy 14:7-8. Then, in Isaiah 65:2-4, and 66:17, God issues a stern warning against those who
eat pork.
Some people are aware of this prohibition from God, but they say that they can eat pork because St. Paul said that all
food is clean in his letter to the Romans 14:20. St. Paul said this because he believed (as he wrote in his letter to the
Ephesians 2:14-15) that Jesus had abolished the Law with all its commandments and regulations. He seems, however,
to have misunderstood what he heard about Jesus. In the Gospel According to Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus is reported to
have said quite the contrary, as follows: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law . . . ." Jesus then went on
in that passage (in verse 19) to denounce anyone who would break the smallest commandment and teach others
likewise. He also praised his true followers who will practice and teach even the smallest commandment. One of the
commandments, as we have seen, is to stay away from pork.
This is why the true followers of Jesus, holding on to his teachings, did not let unclean food such as pork enter their
mouths, so that Peter, the chief disciple, can say, “I have never eaten anything impure or unclean” (Acts of the
Apostles, ch. 10, v. 14)
Five chapters later in the Acts of the Apostles, 15:29, we find that the original disciples still differentiate between clean
and unclean foods, and this time Paul is in agreement with them. Six chapters later, in ch. 21, v. 25, their decision to
impose food regulations on believers is mentioned without regret, and this time Paul is challenged to prove that he is in
agreement with them; and he demonstrated his full agreement with them.
What remains, then, is that Jesus, on whom be peace, upheld the prohibition against pork. His disciples also upheld it,
and so must all his followers. Those who fail to uphold it need to be informed and reminded of this rule from God.

I do not eat pork or any of the animals listed in Leviticus as unclean. Well I started that way, I know am a vegetarian. However, this is not a Salvation issue. It was a sanitary law given to the people of Israel. Remeber that our body is the temlple of the Holy Spirit and we are entitled to keep it in the best shape possible. I think Gods purpose for men was not to eat meat (see Genesis first two chapters). When the Designer of the human body gives me advise in what to eat or not, you can be sure I follow directions.
Us christians can not condemn Gays and Lesbians. The only one who can condemn or set free is the Judge of the final trial. That Judge is God. I can not say that someone will go to hell or not because he is Gay. I am also a sinner as a gay or lesbian is a sinner. Salvation has to do with your personal relationship with God and accepting Jesus as your personal saviour.
Once you accept Jesus and understand his love for you, you will be willing to change all aspects in your life that are not compatible with God. This does not happen in a moment, is a process by which learn, internalize, and apply. The christians never stop growing in knowledge through their life.
If through your interpretation of the Bible you think being Gay or Lesbian is OK then thats your prerrogative. Nobody can convince you of what you don't want to hear.
My advise to you is to open your heart to the Holy Spirit and let him guide you. Remeber, no one can tell you if you will be saved or not, that is between you and God.

Yep per!! Sure do, and I've said for some time now; that I would make a lousy Jew, because I won't give up my pork!
I am a Christian and I understand what an old testament is and what a new testament is.
In the new testament the Christ said that it isn't what goes into your mouth that is evil but what comes out of your mouth.
You know...I don't think I've ever seen pork come out of my mouth but by the spoken word "pork". Must be all right then eh?

Pork was introduced into religion as the majority of people were illiterate and believed what was told to them by their religious leaders.
Pork as we all know can go off within 2 days if not refrigerated.
The Middle East was is an impoverished place with simple minded people and this is where most of these religions started.
I am fortunate to be a Christian and allowed to eat what I like.
I'D rather have a BACON sandwich than a PULSE CURRY any day.
PIGS TROTTERS,POTATOES AND CABBAGE..mmmmm

1) The quote you've given was written to Jews living under the Mosaic Covenant. None of these laws pertain to Messianic Jews or Christians living under the Covenant of Messiah (New Covenant). We are specifically told at places such as Acts 10:9-16 that the Mosaic dietary laws are not in effect. Therefore, we can eat pork.
2) Jesus condemned sexual immorality (Matt. 5:32, for example); so did the apostles. Passages such as Acts 15:20, Romans 1:29, Revelation 9:21 and 1 Cor. 6:9 tell us that God sees ALL sins of sexual immorality as being equal: homosexuality, fornication, adultry, etc. A Christian who engages in extramarital sex or fornication before marriage is just as guilty as a Christian who engages in homosexual sex. True Christians are expected to "crucify" their lusts and bring their flesh under control. Again, this applies to heterosexuals AND homosexuals.

Yes I eat pork!
You are talking about the laws of the Old Testament (The Law's of Moses). Christ came with a New Covenant... therefore we can eat pork with the blessing from God.
Same with tithing... 10% was from the Old Testament... 10% was not money but property... your first born calf, pig... livestock.
NO where in the New Testament does Jesus speak to us about giving 10%... we are to give from the heart.... how many really do that? Most give just to be recognized as having money. I've seen the rich give a few dollars and the poor give all they had to give. Who's going to be reward for giving?

Mostly stuff like that is from Islam. They didn't want people keeping pigs cause desert conditions... and pigs drank lots of valuable water which better served for humans... to increase population against possible attack.
Also pigs can't be shorn for wool, don't give milk, can't pull a plough... they were an expensive luxury for Islam/Jewish desert people... so the taboos were brought in via religious elders. Also pork harder meat to keep bacteria free in desert conditions. Bible has lots in it... after all... written by many different people... not surprising one section advises against pork... but its strange how both desert people.... islam and jews.. have the taboo on pork... and northern cooler countries with lots of water don't.

Yes, ham and pork chops are two of my favorite foods. Jesus came to fulfill the Mosaic Law, so we are no longer under it. Remember, that in the time of Moses, animal sacrifices were a requirement for the forgiveness of sins. We no longer have to do that because of Jesus giving his life for our sins. We are also able to eat pork and ham and be thankful for it. Consider what 1 Timothy 4:4 tells us--"For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be rejected, if it be received with thanksgiving"
Yes, bacon and ham can be eaten with a clear conscience

YES of course i do!! We are no longer under the law! The Law of Moses was written for the Jews and was only to last until the time of Christ. In the Law of Moses, the blood of animals was required to atone for the sins of the people. These sacrifices were temporary. Now, we have the perfect sacrifice. God's only begotten son, being without sin, offered Himself as a sacrifice to forgive sins from the time of His death until His return. When Jesus died on the cross, the temporary Law of Moses was fulfilled and is no longer necessary.
We now have a new convenant..read Hebrews 8:6,7,13 ...He [Christ] is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. For if that first covenant [the Law of Moses] had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second....In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. Since Christians are not under the Law of Moses today (only Jews ever were), we are not under the Ten Commandments written in the Law. Christians today are to follow Jesus Christ. Since He Himself reinstated all but one of the Ten Commandments (the Sabbath), Christians are obligated to obey nine of the Ten Commandments.
As well, many today refer to the Sabbath as Sunday, the Sabbath of the Bible was on Saturday. Even though many think of Sunday as the weekend, most modern calendars show Sunday to be the first day of the week. In the Old Testament, the Jews were commanded to rest on the Sabbath. Since Christians are not under the law we are not commanded to keep it.

The issue is not about scripture it is about christians that use the bible as a smorgasbord.
They take a little here and a little there but don't follow it all.
Jews and Muslims can be accused of similar issues.
When you find people who do these kinds of things remind yourself they are wolves in sheep clothing. Stay away from them if at all possible and forgive them as they are just letting fear and hate rule their lives.

no longer me. despite if that regulation grew to become into nailed to the go, and that i'm no longer so confident it grew to become into, it somewhat is a reality that pigs can not sweat. it is likewise a reality that pigs have worms. God new this while He declared them unclean. despite if I prayed over it, which will in no way exchange the reality of ways the pig is. it somewhat isn't any longer for me to think of that God cares relating to the Jews and not something of the international. maximum Christians over seem the undeniable fact that no longer eating beef, lobster or different unclean animals is an common count number of wellbeing. God bless.
