I have a 4 month old son and obviously don't pay as much attention to the dog now. Could that be the reason he started peeing on everything? He did good for the first 3-1/2 months.

Put it outside.

Yes it is likely your dog is acting out and you admit you're not paying the dog as much attention. Restart potty training...and seriously decide if you're going to give the dog more attention or find it a new forever loving home, because if you continue to neglect the dog it's behavior problems will only get worse and it's not fair to the dog as it wasn't it's fault.

To potty train... DO NOT SPANK... than buy the dog a body harness and a 5-6 foot leash. Whenever the dog is indoors and not in a crate (crate training is recommended as well) than tie leash end to belt of human responsible for watching it. Whenever you see the dog to start to sniff/circle/dig/signal it needs to go, immediately walk the dog outside to designated potty area, give command word (use this consistently), give lots of praise, and treat when completed. (make sure you have them in your pocket to treat at appriopriate time). Make sure all prior staining/messes inside the house has been cleaned with a cleaner that breaks down enzymes not just an ordinaty household cleaner. I use Orange TKO, or Nature's Miracle.

Whatever you do, don't spank your dog. Spanking it will make it do it even more just to spite you. When the dog has an accident make sure you yell at him....but you have to catch him while he's doing it for it to be effective. Clean it up with a paper towel and take that & him outside and say go potty outside. When he does go outside make sure to give him lots of praise or treats & tell him "good potty outside"

Well when me had my old dog, he was a puppy and whenever he made a no no in the house he got in trouble. them my dad taught him to go on news papers that were right by the backyard door. when he went to the newspapers my dad or mom would quickly let him out. eventually, he learned that he has to go outside when he goes to the bathroom. But that is just my dog. your dog might not want to learn how not to go potty in the house and go outside that way. or you can take him to a training facility.

house train it. when ever it uses the bathroom in the house show the dog what it did wrong then spank it and put it in the kennel for a bit, after a couple of weeks of trial & error it should get better.

Put him outside. If you let him in and he pees, spank him with a rolled up newspaper and put hin out. Keep doing that until he stops.
