PROTECT skin from the sun: always wear a sunscreen. Sunscreen is the most effective anti-aging therapy available and a sunscreen with full-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and an SPF of 15 or greater can help prevent wrinkles, sun spots and loss of firmness. Sunglasses are also essential as dark lenses prevent squinting and therefore, can preclude creases from forming around the eyes.

While makeup itself doesn't cause wrinkles, putting it on and taking it off can. Be careful not to tug skin when applying makeup to the face. Use a specialized makeup remover or a cleanser that thoroughly removes cosmetics to prevent rubbing or pulling. Men who pull skin tight to get a closer shave should avoid stretching the skin since skin loses elasticity as it ages and repeated flattening may enhance wrinkle formation.

Don't smoke. There is no other way to say it: smoking causes wrinkles. Don't smoke.

Sleep on silk sheets. Long the secret of film divas, silk pillowcases prevent facial skin from creasing during the night. Silk allows the skin to glide along the pillow so the face rests comfortably without placing pressure on creased skin, effectively "ironing" in wrinkles.

DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Drinking water throughout the day will keep your body effectively flushing toxins through your kidneys instead of your skin. Remember, your body is about 70% water and if your cells get dehydrated, they will not be able to function well. You must have an abundance of water to perform every task the body requires which of course includes repairing damaged cells which will help your skin heal and keep it healthy.

Skin care products containing Acetyl Hexapeptide 3 (trademark Argireline) have been proven to have a Botox like effect, although obviously they do not produce as dramatic a result as an actual injection.

The creams need not be expensive. For example, Avon's Clinical Deep Crease costs about $32.00.

The No 2 leading cause of wrinkles No 1 of course is the sun, but the second leading cause is not smoking but Mineral Oil! and it is in 83% of American Cosmetics. Mineral Oil seals your skin and it cannot breathe it is a cheap filler and that is why it used so much. It is a derivative of crude oil. I find that wearing a hat can be a good thing... especially for hiding a rather large piece of duct tape, secured from the base of my skull all the way around to the forehead... holding that youthful look in place ! Try not to cough or you may rip out a few hairs ! If you still are interested in injecting something in there, Elmer's makes a thick, non-toxic glue that could prove quite permanent !
