Dear Angel,

Yes! Children are a wonderful gift of the Lord to protect and love. Parents should be overjoyed to bring a new soul into the world and to bring him/her up in the nuture and admonition of the Lord. I know many women who would love to have a child but cannot. Instead they have adopted children. Perhaps some of these children might be the next Samuel, or Josiah or Elisabeth or Joshua or Mary.

I lost my son when he was 30. YES, he was a gift that I miss everyday. No, he was not a perfect person.I miss the mistakes he made in life and his laugh and smile. I miss his silly ways. I miss him at breakfast, lunch and dinner. I wish I could have protected him or taken his place in death. Love your kids and protect them while you can. You may not have them tommorrow,

I do not agree what another poster said about God not giving us children. Children are a blessing from Him. Man and Woman could do the deed 100 times a day and have no child at all. If God hadn't willed it it wouldn't have happend at all.

Unfortunately, people who are unable to protect or properly love a child are just as likely to have them as anyone else, and I refuse to blame God for that.

Children are a responsibility, not a gift. Far too many people have them without considering the repercussions of their decision.

Michael Jackson would agree... a gift to us... to love... yeah he definately would agree. whether or not god agrees wiv that is open to debate... my answer is a no tho.
As i dont believe in god i'm gonna have to say... children are the future... to love and protect... so they can love and protect us when we get old.

protect and love most definitely, gods gift? I'm sorry i don't buy it. that would imply that couples who are unable to have children have in some way offended god.

Then why do atheists and people of other beliefs have children to protect and love?

You're really not that special. Many animals do the same thing you know.

Children are parents gifts to themselves, to love and protect and educate. God is quite irrelevant in all this.

Not me because if that were the case, it would be obvious that he is giving these gifts to a lot of people who don't even want them.
