Are you afraid of him? It seems like it. Their is no best way to get rid of someone. However, the first 72 hours after a break up are very dangerous. If you think in the least he will become violent, GO to a domestic violence shelter right away. You may want to start talking to someone NOW. Call this number 1-800-799-safe, explain to them and go from there. Do not tell anyone where you are. Tell your family and friends you are in a safe place and God be with you. Remember he beat her 1,000 times, she got flowers once.

Sometimes people have a hard time getting over breakups because they fear it was because they weren't good looking enough. Reassure him that you are physically and sexually attracted to him and he's a great guy that deserves the best but that you simply are not in love with him/that he is not the one you want to spend the rest of your life with. Tell him he is a great guy that deserves someone better than you-someone that loves him back.

Well by the sounds of it, you have tries numerous times to leave him, and he still don't take the hint, You already broke it off with the possessive jerk, so in your mind you are single, go out and find a man, and carry on with your life.. and if he gets in to the middle of that realationship, make it clear from every one who is around to hear, tell him that you have broke up with him, that he needs to let go and move on with his self pathetic life, and leave you the hell alone. And if he is really really bad, get a restraing order

Change your number and only give it to close friends, family. Tell him he is stalking you and you may have to take legal action. Let him know you are very sorry but it just didn't work and now it's his turn to leave you alone. Good luck.

Take time to think over why he's so attached to you. Did you ever lead him on? Tell him in person that you wish him the best and request that he respects your decision and please don't take any calls from him, unless you agree to still have him as a friend.

Good luck.

Steve Martin, on his comedy album "Wild and Crazy Guy" spelled it out....

You say, "I break with thee, I break with thee, I break with thee..." And you throw dog poopy on their shoe.

Seriously, just be honest. Do it in person, not over the phone or, God forbid, via email. And be firm; they may plead with you to stay together.
