I hate hotel beds, and indeed most other fabric matresses. I have made my own, comfortable matress out of Edam cheese, which has the flexibility and strength required for my sleeping mass.
Would a hotel allow me to bring the Edam bed with me on my visit?

No, under section 12 of the foreign bed act, "guests are not allowed to bring their own beds"

Only if it's a Dutch hotel. I find hotels in other countries are very 'Picky' when it comes to sleeping arrangements.
