1. Pay attention in class... absorb what you can while there.
2. Read the relevant portions in your textbook(s)
3. Is any of it confusing? Ask you teacher to clarify points.
4. Do some of your own research... enrich the classroom experience by exploring your local library, do some google searches, or check the Wikipedia.
Procedually...
1. Skim new material
2. Dig deeper for a thorough understanding.
3. Summarize it back to yourself a couple of times
PS - I'm always disappointed by the flip, two or three word answers some of my fellow answerers give here. Replies like that provide a flash of amusement for the replier, but do nothing to help the original poster or others who view the question.
If you think someone is on here looking for an easy answer or to have their hand held through the academic process, why not just keep quiet and move on to a more substantive query?

I recommend that you get away from all distractions and sit down with your notes and books. Go over all your notes and make sure that you are familiar with them. It is not always about memorizing but more about how well you can understand and explain what you were taught. If there are any formulas and diagrams make sure that you do know them inside and out. Highlight and make your own notes if you have to. You can also create a study sheet that simplifies all your lessons to your understanding. This is what I usually do for my exams. Hope it helps.

the best way is to study harder and to read about the topic more. I'm not sure about this but I've heard that it will be helpful to use green highlighter in highlighting because study shows that it helps people to memorize it easier. I also heard that listening to Mozart while studying and sleeping helps develop the brain. Also, try making a reviewer that you think will be easier for you to understand. Hope it'll work! Good Luck!

You need to make an advanced plan when you are going to study. Set out a certain amount of time each week and do it from an early stage giving you tim to enoy yourself. Otherwise studying will become hated. If you plan it effectively high grades are much more likely to be achieved.
