Under Argentine law, which recognizes jus soli (citizenship by birth) and claims the Falklands -- including South Georgia and the Sandwich Islands which were NEVER under Spanish sovereignty or claim -- as Argentinian, all persons born there are Argentinian citizens. I have confirmed that with the consul of Argentina in London.

Under the British Nationality Act 1981 nearly all persons born in the Falklands are British citizens with the right of abode in Britain.

Under the rule of self determination, it is clear that the Falklanders want to remain as they are. Busybodies elsewhere want to make them into something else, just as they want to make the Puerto Ricans independent whether or not the latter vote for independence or not -- which up till now they haven't.

Long story. Bias and hatred of the US and Britain.

The islanders think of themselves as British, so that should answer your question.

They're Argentinian islands with a bunch of Brits on them. Kick em off and give the land back.
