Pros are he has himself a trophy chick to show off hanging on his arm to his friends. Cons are that with 17 years age difference there is going to be a lot of things that you have in difference. Your tastes in music, culture and even friends will be very different. It is hard for relationships with this large of age differential but they do work out the odd time. In addition if you have children he is going to be too old to do many things with the child when he gets involved in sports or whatever and the fact is that many of the kids friends will look at this man and think he is the granddad rather than the dad. You will also be widowed obviously earlier than your friends who marry people their own age as he is that much older. Not trying to make sound too bad but just being truthful and realistic.

Don't let an older man steal your youth! Be with someone on your level that you can grow with. He will take for granted all the life experiences he's had that you are just now starting to have. I'm sure he's nice, charming, handsome, smart, stable, but he's been there and done it all, what does he have to look forward to other than walking in the room with a 20 something young thing. I dont know know anything other than the two lines you posted but from my experences, I think you should move on and stick with the 27-32 age range.

I am 40 and my wife is 30.
As long as you are both mature, and done playing the games, there are no real problems.
Good Luck
