My computer crashed and now my dvd writer is not doing so well. I need the installation disks as well as all the software...

Go to the HP web site under downloads or product assistance. Match up your model number and download the driver packet and you will be up and running in no time. If this doesn't work you can find a generic driver online from various sources.

First, download the driver from HP (www.hp.com, click on Drivers and Downloads). Then, install the software that came with the product.

Most internal and external USB/Firewire dvd writers don't need separate drivers - XP should have the drivers built in natively.
HP doesn't seem to have drivers available to download, but you can try www.driverguide.com to see if they have them.

you dont need the software to play discs its only to manage your files to make a copy of a disc there are a lot of other softwares here are a few cdburnerxp nero deepburner
