Over christmas break and new years I ate A LOT of sweets..well it caught up to me and now the tooth in the back of my mouth is KILLING me,throbbing and aching. I have been brushing like 5 times a day and gargling with listerine to help ease the pain,it calms it for a little while then comes right back. I have been using salt water too. When will my toothache go away? Any home remedies I can use? I only have a couple things I can use so its kinda hard.

This will sound crazy I know. You know flap of skin between your thumb and index finger that makes a V? Rub ice on the part facing you. It should work and its easy. IT has something to do with the nerves, but it might not work if the pain is too intense. Try it, you might be surprised!

Tooth aches are one of the most awful pains there is....I have found that if you put an aspirin on the sore tooth and gum, it will dissolve and feel better for awhile., also those over the counter drops and gels work for awhile ...but for now, try the aspirin and go to the dentist as soon as you can.... I also heard that if you bite down on a used tea bag, it may help, but I have never tried that one!.....Good luck!

Clove oil is good, if you don't have clove oil try a few cloves whole at the point of pain.
Your brushing your teeth to often and that may cause it to hurt as well.
Tea-Tree oil is also good as mention earlier by some one else.
If you can make an appointment with the dentist.

I've heard you can put some tea tree oil on a toothache and it will stop it from hurting. I've not used it though. Also it might be becoming abcessed, so if you can take it try putting a tea bag in your mouth. My mother did that for a tooth that was abcessed and it worked for her. She slept with the tea bag on the tooth.

Find any pain reliever in the house you can.. ask your parents where they are. Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc. Use ice, it'll numb it.. or you guys might have something in your medicine cabinet that will numb the area, some sort of cream, Oragel or something.

I got a wisdom tooth infected during Christmas vacation one year. My dentist was out for a week. Only two things relieved the pain. Sex and whiskey.

Tylenol, some sort of IB profen.

You should go to a dentist to have it either filled, or sealed.

Oh, and don't put ice or any sort of metal on it. Talk about excruciating pain.

need to go to dentist, if you are in pain that means that the nerve is already damaged, you will more than likely need an extraction or root canal tx
