There might be some British people who don't like American policies but few people lump all Americans into one category. It's just a stupid rumour that everyone in Britain hates Americans. In fact, Americans-- as are all tourists to the country-- are warmly welcomed and America is a top holiday location for the British.

There is a reason that we're each other's closest allies and that's because both countries are quite similiar. We share the same taste in films, TV shows, books, children's fads and fashion. Many British folk actually prefer the America to mainland Europe!

Some Brits do, but of course not all.

There is an anti-american sentiment among some English (and it existed long before Iraq or Prez bush). I attended University in England and made some very good English friends. However, I did have paople make anti-American comments to me on more than one occasion. That was in 1990.

Not sure why, but whatever . . .

Depends who you ask............ most the sane, sensible, conservative types generally do as they have the sense to know Britain & America make the world's greatest "tag team" (I've got more true friends over in America from 7yrs on the internet than I have from 27yrs of being born & bred in England - and I certainly like American chicks more than I like British ones).

However, working class / hippie / liberal / chav types + those idiots who protest outside of airbases running up a bloody great big security bill (I love making rude finger gestures at the ones outside RAF Fylingdales when I go past on the Yorkshire Coastliner Bus service) generally give the impression that they don't.

Oh no, definitely not. I can't talk for everyone but I *adore* Americans. Most everything about them. From that beautiful Southern Drawl to tough New yorkers. I love it all. I've many American friends and one of my mentors is from the States.

Why would any one in England hate America? no two nations have ever been closer, we share a common heritage and language.

Some do, some don't. I personally hate your President, but I certainly don't hate individual Americans.

Generally, we aren't very keen on your current president, but Americans in general are ok.
