Dont beat around the bush, we hate that, we hate mixed signals, apparently were crappy at reading them or dont get them at all. eek!
depends on what you want.... there was lots of good advice above so Ill see if thers something I can add....
If you want a cool guy wear something hott that will get his attention and then ask if he has a date, asking will he go with you might result in dissapointment, this way he doesnt know whether you are interested so incase he says yes you can feel good that you didnt ask him out if you get what I mean. I think it might be a bad feeling asking someone that is taken so therefore this technique would be..... sorry I tend to go on and on about useless **** and never find a way to stop.
Well if you want someone normal then just be yourself and dress comfortably and walk with confidence and just talk freely and make them feel as comfortable as possible around you so that they are relaxed with the decision. and like someone pointed out geeks can be nice dates... even though they may be shy and go on and on about useles ****.... it might not be bad... Whats wrong with geeks?

Look Around And Find Someone You Think is Attractive but dont just go up to someone...make a plot to get to know them them when your really feeling him go for it!!!
If Yu wait ages for someone to ask you yu could end up wif no-one...
And Another thing...Dont Go For The Hottest guy in school or the super-popular jock or the french foregin all the girls in spansih class are drooling over....Chances are there will be many like you thinking of ways to ask um out...or they already are going out wif someone and nothing is worse then the

i feel that you won't get answer to this question in open forum.
we all have different taste.. some like hot personalities and some likes the person who is calm and quiet.
so possibly u ask your heart with whom u are comfortable with and .. try to speak to that person through common friend
