I tried Effexor, but didn't like the (side) effects. I have to say I have had the same problem with Paxil, though!!! I have been off of it a month now, trying to do without. I have been doing ok, except for the "brain zaps". I know what you are talking about, as, if I forgot to take my Paxil in the morning, I was already feeling it that evening. I read an article that talks about these two anti-depressants, and they are both notorious for their very short time they take to leave the body and the feeling of a withdrawal. I would try something else, for instance Zoloft or the old Prozac..Hope this helps..

Regular Effexor or Effexor XR? I was on XR for a while, and had this problem. I bet regular Effexor is even worse.

Effexor withdrawal symptoms are THE worst of any medication I have ever been on.

Eventually, I started taking a split dose (75mg 2x/day) and that made all the difference in the world.

Good luck and take care!

No, but if you have only just started taking it, it may take a while to build up in your system. HTH : )
