Has anyone ever tried using an egg peeler? I've seen them on TV but never bought one. I make egg salad and deviled eggs, and this would make it so much easier if it works!!

Also - If it does work for you... let me know which brand you have and how clean up is... nothing is more frustrating than a kitchen gadget that is impossible to clean!

Ok so lots of people are voting no... what is the best way to peel an egg? The shell always sticks to the egg and ends up tearing the white part.

Nope, they don't work! Well, they do work if you follow the insstructions of putting the eggs in ice water right after they are done but then THAT's the trick itself to getting them to peel. Cook as you already do and then immediately put them in to a bath of ice water and peel shortly thereafter.

I bought an egg-stractor and it does work - it is a pain sometimes - and I haven't used it a second time, but then I don't make deviled eggs often. I suppose I would pull it out if I was peeling a dozen eggs.

Don't waste your $$! Just tap each end of the egg on the counter to crack it, and roll the egg back and forth on the counter. The shell will slip right off.

Eggs that are older peel better.

A week or two after you buy them. The air pocket is bigger the older they are.

Don't waste your money. Use eggs that are NOT fresh, when boiled they will peel easily.

They look like they work on TV. And the way they explain should logically work as well. I hope it works out for ya!
