When I do exercises (pushups, triceps press, anything extending the elbows), or even when doing everyday activities, my elbows tend to pop. Sometimes I can feel the pressure in the elbows and I know that they need to pop, but it hurts very bad until they actually do pop. But as soon as they pop, there is no more pain and they don't pop anymore. Is this normal? Is there any way to release the pressure in the joints before doing exercises so that they don't pop? Any information you have about this would be great. Thanks!

I never totally extend my elbows. I always keep a little bend in them, which is recommended. But when I get towards the end of the extention I can feel the pressure in my elbow and the more I extend my arm the more it hurts. But as soon as it pops once, I don't have any problems and I can continue doing the exercise without any kind of popping or pain.

Mine does that too. I am double jointed which the say you can have loose ligaments which could cause it but I don't know for sure.

Well you should have a doctor give you the ok for working out before really going for it.

But one thing that might help is that when you lift weights, don't extend your arm so that it is completely extended. Keep a bit of a bend in your arm, when your repetition is at its highest and it may simply prevent your elbow from popping. The same thing could apply to pushups - just don't push all the way up so that your arms are straight.

I believe that it's usually recommended that you leave a bit of a bend in your arms when you lift anyway.

Hope this helps.

Try stretching before excersize, I think it'll go away once you build some muscle.
