Freeze the Playdough with ice. When it is hardened it will crumble and will easily be picked up by a vacum cleaner. The effected area must be covered in ice to freeze it. Hope this helps.

Take waxpaper. Place a large section of wax paper and lay it over the playdough. Set a "freezer pack" or ice cubes on the waxpaper. Set another sheet of wax paper on top and set a phone book over that. Let sit for enough time (about 10 minutes). Take everything up and "pull" on the playdough. If it picks out in a hard manner you can start to rip peices up at a time then vacuum.

Let it dry, then you can get it out with a stiff bristled brush or vacuum cleaner. Do not wet it or it will stain the carpet!

I found a link (below) that says to remove it with a dull knife then use hydrogen peroxide. If still left, diluted dish detergent. It's worth a try.

Replace the carpet.

Steam clean it, or use a hard bristle brush to brush it after it has dried. Last resort carefully cut with scissors.

Agree with Red. Freeze it.
