These days when you feel like it. Traditionally sometime after 12th night. So, the 6th or later.

For a Christmas tree if it's real you should take it down when the needles are coming off or by Jan 6th.
For other decorations there's no strict rule. After New Years and no later than Little Christmas, Jan. 6th.
Past that if you don't have a good reason and the decorations lose their effect.

The Christmas tree should be taken down relatively quickly because the tree starts to dry and becomes a fire hazard with the electric lights on it.
Other than that, the other decorations aren't that big of a deal. I leave my Christmas magnets up all year long.

The Christmas holiday ends this year on 1/5/07 and the Epiphany begins 1/6/07. The first day of Epiphany was always the rule, however I think you can take them down anytime you like before the first day of Ephiphany. Best not mess with the bad Santa.

I know this is bad; but we had our decorations up til March last year. So this year; I wanted to make sure I got an early start. I took them down 3 days after Christmas...so it's done!
Definately take them down in January at the latest. Don't let it go; because procrastination isn't a good thing.

We usually keep the tree up and the lights in the windows until Jan 1, after which day it all comes down until next Xmas.

I think by the first weekend of January, when that first hectic week back at work is over. We take ours down before New Year's Eve because we decorate for our party. I would think most people would get sick of the Christmas stuff after a few weeks.

On the 12th day after Christmas which is, I believe, the 6th January. I always take mine down on the 2nd though as Christmas and New Year is over.
