A response is pointless!

I wouldn't respond to that. Thinking about a response would only make you questions your relationship needlessly, and just create static between you, your friend, and even your bf.

Sometimes silence speaks for itself.
If she had no real reason to make that comment, then she will in her own conciense realize that wasn't a very friend thing to say.

Everyone travels at their own pace, and marriage is a very delicate decision to make, if you take your time in getting there plus a little bit more, you will be better off.
10 mo. is not a long time, seems like it is the perfect time for a promise ring.
Keep your pace!
Don't rush just to keep up w/ your friend.

Why should he have gotten you your ring earlier. He is moving in his time and you seem fine with it. She may have meant well or she may be one of those people who just tries to one up everyone around her. Are you happy? is you BF happy? then nothing else matters. Don't let it bother you. YOU owe her nothing. You shared your joy as a friend. She should have said congratulations and let it be at that. She erred in my humble opinion. You don't have to be rude, but you can just tell her point blank, I'm happy the way things are. Thanks for the input, but why should I rock a boat that isn't sinking. If you are my friend, then you will allow me to bask in the glow for now and wish me the best.

You've only been together for 10 months.... DEFINITLY TAKE IT SLOW! There is NO NEED to rush into a marriage. People who marry too early OFTEN and COMMONLY end in divorce. Be careful!!!

85% of marriages between the ages of 18-25 end in divorce! THATS ALOT!

I would just say how your feeling... if your happy with the primise ring just tell her that the promise ring is wonderful and you wouldn't trade it for another ring at all... also, if your in school, it's to early to get engaged....

DONT RUSH IT AND DONT LISTEN TO UR FRIENDS WHEN IT COMES TO UR RELATIONSHIPS.
JUST NOD UR HEAD IN AGREEMENT WITH HER AND CONTINUE TO DO WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN DOING IN YOUR OWN RELATIONSHIP.
