I'm from Israel

Here's a cool fact about our language, Hebrew:
Hebrew is a Canaanite- Semitic language that was flourished as a spoken language in Israel from the 10th century BCE until just before the Byzantine Period in the 3rd or 4th century CE. Then it was extinct as a spoken language (like the rest of the Canaanite languages), but survived as a literary language (like Latin) of the exiled people of Israel.
It was revived as a spoken language in the 19th century by the Jews who built Israel, and now has 7,000,000 speakers approximately (about 3,500,000 mother-tongue speakers). In the era of globalization and loss of traditional languages, Hebrew is considered a great miracle of will and intransigence.

Israel is a melting pot of a great variety of cultures and traditions, thus you can see in Israel all sorts of foods and dishes from all over the world.
Two common dishes that you will find in every street-corner in Israel are "Falafel" and "Shwarma":

I'm from San Francisco, I lived in Jenks OK for like 6 months. But anywho... Like I said I'm from San Francisco but my family origin is from Nicaragua, which is in Central America. One of our most common dishes is called gallo pinto. Its basically beans and rice mixed together. But you fry the beans first and fry the rice, and then fry them together. Also we have something called a Nacatamale, its basically a tamale but much much larger. Your basic tamale just has one kind of meat inside. Our "tamale" has meat, rice, potatoes, and a bunch more stuff in it. So they are about 3x as big a normal tamale. And San Francisco is known for our sour dough bread and sea food. But you can get so many different foods here. From Latin food to Thai food. You should visit so you can get the full experience.
