A properly operating generator will have a very clean output and will not cause damage to computers or monitors. I have a 5500 watt generator for backup use in my home. It powers pumps, furnace, fridge, freezer, microwave and toaster ovens not to mention television and computer.
If you are having brief outages a UPS will keep things running for several minutes until you can bring your generator online. Otherwise you have to worry about reboot time and lost data.
Twelve computers and some lighting would need at least a 7500 watt generator.

If u r using 12 computers u will have to use a gen set with 7.5 Kw for proper use, Use a CVT along with that so that there would be no problem with the fluctuation of the genset's power supply,

Get a generator and a power capacitor and a system that cleans your power. Unfortantely USP is the biggest company that does this at a very reasonable price.
