You must be scared but you have to figure out why. Maybe you're afraid to be hurt. Or maybe your parents had a bad relationship and the idea of settling down is bad in your mind so maybe that's why you want to run. Or maybe your just plain not ready. I don't know how old you are but if I were you, I'd really do some soul searching to figure out why because you may meet a really great guy who loves you and you wouldn't want to throw him away. The commitment issue... I battle this one too.
Here is the deal... commitment requires sacrifice, and sacrifice means giving up something.
We like the benefits of a commitment but are unwilling to pay the price. Unwilling... contains part of your answer, its your "Will"
At least for me... my will wants to be in control, I want it my way, and I want it now.
You maybe able to find a relationship at Berger King and have it your way... but it will cost you much with no lasting benefit.
Surrendering your will (to the right person) does not make you a foot stool or slave. It only says that I am willing to take the risk one step at a time.

Maybe cuz ur not ready to commit yet - you're still weighing out ur options and maybe because you dont feel as if that person is the one...when ur ready to commit you'll know and you'll settle down with that one person

Is there an answer to this that doesn't make you out to be something bad. Not that I can think of. Then again this is a character question and you are asking people online. Thats like me trying to tell you what kind of car you have and what color it is with out ever seeing it.

It can be many things.
But it probably has to do with you not being comfortable with intimacy. Learn to get comfortable with your feelings and maybe you wont be so afraid of the feelings commitment might bring out of you. Good luck.
