Since Jesus means "Jehovah is our Salvation" everytime you say the name you proclaim the gospel of Christ... doesn't that just rub you the wrong way?

Man I am loving this...

Merely uttering a name never implies that the speaker agrees with the meaning of the name. Never.

For example, the three faithful Hebrew companions of the prophet Daniel were conscripted into service to the government of the pagan Babylonians. Not only were these young men assigned non-Hebrew names by Babylonian officials, but the Babylonians instructed these Jewish men to use specific names which tended to glorify pagan gods. Daniel's bible book seems to indicate that these Hebrews, though impeccably faithful to true worship, did use the pagan names which had been assigned to them.

The name was treated as merely a name. The use of pagan names by Daniel never implied that Daniel agreed with the pagan sentiments of the Babylonian names.

(Daniel 1:6-7) Now there happened to be among them some of the sons of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 7 And to them the principal court official went assigning names. So he assigned to Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, Shadrach; and to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego.

Have you ever read the poem, "Jabberwocky" by Lewis Carroll? Half the words he used do not actually exist, and are used to describe fantasy things:

"'Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gambol in the wabe.
All mimsy were the borogroves, and the mome wraths outgrabe."

If he had a meaning associated with them, it is lost on every English speaking scholar in the world. Does that mean that unless you received a direct translation from Mr. Carroll himself that you cannot read or speak his poem?

So Jesus, Jesus, Jesus- nope, I still don't believe in Christianity. Your definition of "Jesus" doesn't follow mine, so I henceforth reject your definition and choose to ignore your meaning.

Still love it?

Personally I have no problem saying Jesus, hell I'll even say Jehovah is our salvation. I could say black is white a thousand times but it wouldn't make it true.

Well hey ok.... since they were all picking on Christians over Christmas claiming we were worshipping the sun god because we had a tree in the house. It would be cool if people were saved just by saying the Name Jesus :)

These wounds cannot heal by themselves Jesus (PBUH) is the prophet of Allah, so atheists just remain clear of religions in which you do not believe so why are you trying to offend people with your crazy ideas keep them to yourselves

Athiests can freely use the name "Jesus" all they wish. No, or very few, athiest would deny that Jesus actually existed. Historically, he did exist. It is the belief in his mysticism that they disagree with.

No, actually it's a lot of fun to see the look of shock on some people's faces when I come up with a particularly colorful "blasphemy".
