Capnemo is an idiot, in every sense of the word.

First, his reference to NASA's picture is proof of global warming (notice the 200-year trend upwards?). The fact is, a single degree change in the average earth temperature is the difference between the ice age and now.

Second, his reference to a "secular scientific article that shows the earth was actually warmer" is not only irrelevant, but he obviously didn't read the article. The article was written in 1999, whereas the past 6 years have been the warmest on record. Further, the article states:
"Human-induced global warming is the raising of surface temperatures due to increased atmospheric concentrations of CO2 and other greenhouse gases."
and
"It is reasonable to conclude that global warming is a real threat,..."

??? How does this article go against global warming?

Third, his reference to the Harvard study is completely ignorant of the followup. 5 editors resigned in protest from the journal it was published in, including the managing editor. Harvard professors disagree with the findings, and the author of the study, Willie Soon, is a paid consultant for the George C. Marshall Institute, a Washington non-profit organization that opposes limits on carbon dioxide emissions.

Stop spreading lies, capnemo. The Earth is warming, mankind is responsible, and we need to do something about it.

Only the completely ignorant don't believe global warming is real
now. The only real issue in debate is to what extent human beings
are responsible, and whether or not recent changes are a completely natural phenomenon. I happen to believe that the
depletion of the ozone layer is the worst symptom of global warming and that's all man-made,first time in history.

A volcano admits more gases into the atmosphere than humans could ever do. Satellites show that in the past few decades that the Sahara desert is shrinking and Antartica ice sheets are growing larger. Protect the enviroment but have some common sense.

Hardcore Environmentalism is a new "hip" Religion, Global Warming is there "made up" punishment for our sins upon the earth. They drink there purified water and eat there organic foods as there communion to clense there souls. LOL funny but true...think about it.....All religions want you to believe you are doomed if you don't do what they do.

No global warming is not really happening and it has not been documented anywhere. Below is a link taking you to a NASA chart showing the temperature change from 1880 to 2005. Since 1880 the earth's temperature has risen less than 7/10 of 1 degree C. See for yourself here: http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2005/2005cal_fig1.gif

There are numerous charts all over the internet showing the same. The fact that people choose to ignore the facts of these charts shows that they have an agenda to convince the masses of something that really is not happening.

In fact here's a link to a secular scientific article that shows the earth was actually warmer in the past than it is today.

And here's an article from a Harvard University study that says: "Such claims have now been sharply contradicted by the most comprehensive study yet of global temperature over the past 1,000 years. A review of more than 240 scientific studies has shown that today's temperatures are neither the warmest over the past millennium, nor are they producing the most extreme weather - in stark contrast to the claims of the environmentalists.
The review, carried out by a team from Harvard University, examined the findings of studies of so-called "temperature proxies" such as tree rings, ice cores and historical accounts which allow scientists to estimate temperatures prevailing at sites around the world.

The findings prove that the world experienced a Medieval Warm Period between the ninth and 14th centuries with global temperatures significantly higher even than today."

I hope that helps...

No I don't. We've only been keeping track of weather and temperature for 200 years. How do we know that this isn't just a 50 year trend of higher temps? Also, 30 years ago, the cover of Time was asking about how we stop global cooling. Did someone just forget to turn down the themostat?

Absolutely! Just check out any daily news reports and you will find articles pertaining to odd weather occurences and events...i.e. the large ice island that just broke off in Canada's northern area. The major Category 5 hurricanes due to warming of the oceans. The warmer temps in Canada and the other northern areas. I believe it is just that politicians don't want to hear it because it would cost billions and billions of dollars for the major corporations to cut back on emissions and the fact that we need to find alternative fuels which would cost many jobs and CEO's money in their pockets.

There is no doubting that global warming is occuring. It can and has been documented. The only question is the cause.

i'm nevertheless slightly sceptical, besides the actual incontrovertible truth that i extremely care about our wild places. I do inspite of the indisputable fact that imagine that we'd want to consistently take the danger heavily. The info proves that organic cycles of climate ensue on a grand scale. there have been once lions, hippos and elephants wandering the united kingdom nation-state, about one hundred twenty,000 years in the past. That change into an interglacial warmth spell. the component it truly is not disputed, is this stuff take position clearly, after all the Scottish nation-state is complete of glacial useful factors. inspite of the indisputable fact that, the info means that our extra contribution to global warming is making it take position at a speedier cost than existence can manage. we are speaking about climate replace happening in a lengthy time period, quite than spanning centuries or thousands of years. organic world has coped with climate replace quite nicely contained in the previous. woodlands and grasslands can bypass at their snails %., to keep track of the circumstances that in structure them. at the moment there are extra subject matters. we've our organic world trapped in wallet that are surrounded by farmland. The organic "corridors" are lengthy previous. organic world charities are doing their perfect to make our wild places extra joined up. If climate replace keeps because it truly is and there is no area for issues to bypass, then we are able to lose plenty. besides, i imagine my significant challenge is that i don't like it to be real.

Not a question of belief, it is happening. Glaciers and iceshelves have melted, and yes, 1 degree on average does make a difference. Ask a polar bear.
