Hard to believe but we met on a singles phone line. We talked for about a week, then decided to meet. When we met, there were no sparks but we both decided that being friends was a real possibility. After a few months of friendship, we somehow stumbled into a deeper relationship (and we discovered the sparks that had been missing at first). We have been together for 14 years now and married for 3 years. Life is good. There is something to be said for being your loved one's best friend as well as his spouse.

I was in a rock band and my wife-to-be was in a high school play with my brother. My band-mate and I were sitting around home and all the folks in the play that my brother was performing in came over to have an after-play party. My friend figures that we might get lucky with some high-school girls so we tag along. I thought that I was dating this real flighty girl named Mary but Mary quickly started making out with my brother so I figured that she'd had enough of me.
After a couple of hours everyone was paired off and I was alone. Suddenly my wife-to-be came up and asked how I was. I barely knew her. I think I'd met her twice. She asked if I wanted to sit in her closet and talk. Well, we talked all night, literally. No making out, no nothing, just talking. We really connected. It was like something out of left field and we were almost thrown together by the circumstances of both of our dates abandoning us.
The rest is history.

I met my current girlfriend online. I had been dumped 2 weeks before and was recuperating from Gastric Bypass Surgery. A friend of mine sent me a link to a personals site. I put up a profile and started to get responses. When she responded to me I found we had a lot in common. I can't say it's love yet but it's pretty close.
