Most companies close down automatically during those times. The atheists don't "request" anything.
Furthermore, those "Christian" holidays were stolen from the Pagans, so kindly drop the holer-than-thou attitude. Pagans like atheists and welcome them at our celebrations!

Stealing from my company? That's funny, one of my bosses is an atheist, and we still all got Christmas off, plus an extra day, and a bonus. Am I really morally obligated to come in to an office and waste my time when all government offices, banks, and post offices are closed, considering there wouldn't be anything for me to do? Or is it wrong of me to thoroughly enjoy spending some extra time with my family?
Why would I be morally obligated to work extra days because I don't believe in God?

stealing from a company? I'm sorry but Christmas war originally a pegan holliday called saturnali it is not religious at all. I'm an atheist and I celebrate christmas not because of any religion but because I'm a good person and I like giving people gifts. As for easter, I don't get off from work because it's a sunday and I don't have work anyway and I only celebrate it because I want to be with my family. you are so closed minded. Yahoo should require an IQ test before being able to ask questions.

Just because I am an atheist, means I cannot celebrate the changing of seasons, and enjoy time spent with my family? By the way, I do not celebrate christmas, but use this time for the above mentioned reasons. Somehow this equates to me having less morals? You christians need to realize that you are not the center of the universe. Just because December is when christmas is celebrated by christians doesn't mean that other people do not celebrate for non religious reasons.

And I suppose that your belief came in existence just for you and you alone? The belief of some and the non-belief of others is not exclusive to the anger you experience when they have the audacity to infringe on a time you feel is exclusive to your belief. A time, set forth by man, to spend with family and loved ones. To share a few precious moments of peace and quiet without the guilt you may feel the remainder of the year should you become tired of your job or.. your boss. A time to reflect on the past and dream of the future and hope.
A hope that transcends any belief and any religious holiday. A hope that all people no matter their belief or non-belief will not be punished because they do not believe as you do. A special kind of hope they find at this time of the year, not in your belief, but in the belief that their strength will continue for another 364 days. Ah, but what of that one day I omitted, you ask? This is the day that they give thanks, as do you, for the things that matter to them. Their family, their lives, and the power to be here just one more year.
So, man has decided that this is a special time of year, and as such man wants what all men have wanted for years. Peace and harmony! Even if it is only once a year!
Blessed Be

Silly question. Enjoying time away from work requires no belief system. I say this as a believer. Think about it. Do you have any moral problem with summer vacation? Do you not feel any moral obligation? Not a very well thought out question!

I would have no problem working over religious holidays as long as I get the equivalent number of days holiday throught the year that you get. Don't see why you should get more holidays just because you believe in a load of bollocks.
Seeing as I'm forced not to work over Christmas, I spend the whole of Christmas week volunteering at my nearest homeless shelter.

word his hypocrisy, every person, as he claims that atheists make fake information, then spouts his own. the place did you get ninety 9% from? Who says that a hundred% of Atheists have never picked up a Bible? have you ever carried out a correct and independent survey, revealed in an excellent magazine and peer-reviewed to verify that the numbes upload up? do not use fake information in a bid to accuse people of using fake information, i will make it easier to be attentive to right here and now that throughout study over gay rights, i've got studied the Bible extremely a lot myself, and that i'm not even Christian: i'm an atheist. So do not you tell me that i've got purely secretly been hiding a comedian in there, because of the fact i've got extremely carried out somewhat study, while many Christians %. up the Bible, seek for one single textual content cloth which justifies their argument and then pontificate it to the congregation. To better information of your hypocrisy, we will pay attention as you refuse factor-sparkling to present day information on your fake claims. If, as you assert, atheists use fake information (it fairly is totally in all probability, not every person is like me and prepared to look into issues first,) then you fairly may be at an benefit to locate valid information that are respected, independent and shown maximum suitable, then grant evidence on your numbers, first. that would furnish you with the better-hand on your argument. rather, you have decreased your self down under all and sundry in a pathetic attempt to make your self look like the extra effective arguer by technique of giving fake information without evidence. you could inquire from me: the place is my information? look over my submit lower back, did I point out that i became going to coach Christianity incorrect? No, this answer is an attempt to coach you the way you in my opinion are using a incorrect argument to justify your means, and how you're being hypocritical in a ineffective attempt to sway god-fearing Atheists. Please don't be a hypocrite, study a thank you to argue first. It purely pisses off us Atheists and Christians alike who use good arguments (specific, the two Atheists and Christians mutually can pool mutually extra of an argument than you ever might desire to.)

Are you religiously obligated to do God's work every Sunday by killing Wal-Mart employees? Exodus 35:2 says that anyone who works on Sunday shall be put to death, and that's direct from God himself!
Does that mean your Christian morality is just as loose as everyone else and your argument has no meaning?

I'll take any day off with pay that they want to give me.
However, I have very often offered to work on Christmas or Easter when it is necessary for the business and when I can help out a fellow co-worker who wants to take the day off with their family.
Happy Holidays to You

The word atheist does not need to be capitalized.
As for your slur about morals and corporate theft, I think you should be looking at your fellow Christers like Ted Haggard, Mark Foley, Pat Robertson and more. If those are your Christian moral leaders you people are in huge trouble.
