I have my cats litter box in a room that I would like to gate off so my toddler can not get in but I also need my cat to be able to get in and out. The bottom also has to be adjustable for baseboard.

I tried lifting up the gate so the cat can get under but my toddler gets under too.

Also my cat will not jump the gate (old and lazy)

Thanks

There are no such gates. It there is an opening big enough for your cat to get through, then it would dangerous for your child. I suggest keeping an eye on your toddler so that he/she won't get in the litter box. I had a cat with my daughter and that's what I did.

I wish I could think of one that would keep the toddler out but would let the cat through. One that might work is an accordion style gate, but they have been discontinued from being manufactured due to the dangers of a toddler getting his or her head stuck in the "V" or Diamond shaped areas. Those type gates might be available at yard sales, etc, but I'd recommend not using them.

Evenflo Easy Swing Gate is the only gate I can think of that is easy to use when letting the cat in and out of the room. My cat will jump over the gate if I put his food on the other side. You might try that.

Can you put your cat litter in a room with a door? then you could get a little cat trap door built in to the door so the cats could get in and out and keep the door shut. Home Depot has them, they're not expensive. Although if your toddler opens doors easily you may need to consider putting a lock on the door as well.

We just got a regular plastic gate. We didn't put it super close to the floor. We adjusted where we wanted it.... it has a gap, not big enough for our son to wiggle through, but I think a cat could? I think you should just look for a gate that you can put up with a wide enought gap for the cat to creep through...

i just got a gate like this at target. Its wooden and you put it in the doorway and it has a gate that opens to let you in and keeps baby out. there are bars in the gate and its small enough to keep kids out and possibly let small dogs and cats through. it was about $45.00 and i dont think it was available online...its only in stores but i think its what you are looking for.
