This will impress the best. A little twist like this will make it seem like you made the recipe up yourself:
3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
5 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tablespoon kosher salt
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 chipotle chile en adobo, coarsely chopped, with 1 tablespoon sauce
1 pound ground turkey
1 (12-ounce) Mexican lager-style beer
1 (14 1/2-ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, with their juice
1 (15 1/2-ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
Sliced scallions, cilantro sprigs, avocado, sour cream, grated Monterey jack cheese, and/or tortilla chips, for garnish, optional
Heat the olive oil in a large, heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Add the onion, garlic, salt, chili powder, and oregano and cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 3 minutes. Stir in the tomato paste and the chipotle chile and sauce; cook 1 minute more. Add the turkey, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, and cook until the meat loses its raw color, about 3 minutes. Add the beer and simmer until reduced by about half, about 8 minutes. Add the tomatoes--crushing them through your fingers into the skillet--along with their juices and the beans; bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until thick, about 10 minutes.
Ladle the chili into bowls and serve with the garnishes of your choice.

2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
2 28 oz. cans diced tomatoes
2 14 oz cans red kidney beans
2 Tbls Chili Powder
salt & pepper to taste
Brown ground beef with the onion and drain the fat. Add the tomatoes and the beans (juice and all), and the chili powder. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 hours with a lid on the pot. Add the salt and pepper. If it is too thick, you can add some tomato sauce to thin it out a bit, but don't forget to re-season. If it's too thin, you can cook it a little longer with the lid off.
For best results, make the chili ahead of time and keep in fridge (no more than a couple days though). Re-heat the chili and serve hot. I like mine with some sliced cheddar chese, a dill pickle, and a peanut butter sandwich. MMMMmmmm.

The best recipe I've ever had actually comes from the back of the can of chili beans I use. They are Bush's Chili Beans and they come in medium or hot. The recipe on the can is really very good. It is a medium thickness and has a good balance of sweet and tart. Good luck.

Always buy the cheaper ground beef. The extra fat in it makes a good chili (rather than the extra lean.)
Brown 1 pound ground beef with 1 chopped medium onion, and 1 clove minced garlic, in 1 tablespoon of oil.
Add:
1 Tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon of cumin
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
dash of red pepper flakes
can of chili beans
can of kidney beans
can of garbanzo beans
can of tomato sauce
can of tomatoes (diced or chopped or stewed, any of them work)
2 - 4 cups of water (add more as it cooks if you want it runnier)
Simmer for about an hour.
It's also good with diced fresh onion and grated cheese sprinkled on top of the cooked chili when serving.

I always have used this, and it is kid-friendly:I really like it because it is Easy!
2 cans Ranch-Style beans
1 Lb. ground beef
garlic powder
minced onions
1 pinch paprika and chili powder (optional)
(If you want it really spicy, add a package of taco seasoning)
Brown ground beef, and add garlic powder and (2 shakes)minced onion.Drain meat, and add chili beans, and spices. Put a lid on the skillet, and let it simmer over medium heat until thouroughly heated. Stir occasionally.
This is really good topped with cheese, with crackers, on a tortilla, or alone.

I Small onion chopped fine
2 pounds ground beef
cook these two together, salt and pepper to taste
add:
1 big can tomato juice
1 can red kidney beans
1 can diced italian tomatoes
1 can chili beans (spicy)
add these to your ground beef mixture
This is an easy, excellent chili. You do not need to add chili powder unless you desire a stronger taste.

1 lb ground beef
1 lb beef stew meat
2 8 ounce cans of tomato sauce
1/2 bell pepper
1/2 onion
1 packet of 2 alarm chili mix
The directions are on the back of the pack, but I like to add the vegeteables in with mine. I also cook the meat seperately, then throw it in together. You then let in cook for 2 to 3 hours. For best results, cook it in a crock pot on low for 7 hours or on high for 5 hours (stirring consistently). The spices really set in that way.
