We all have from time to time. Me and my sister used to do it all the time when we were growing up. Even adults do it sometimes.

OMG yes. i just got in a huge fight yesterday w/ my sister who's visiting.. :( she's just kind of.... MEAN. she was going out so i was helping her do hair, and then she was looking for some stupid shirt, and we couldn't find it, i was totally helping her look, and then she started complaining how messy my room was and how she can't find any CRAP and was just rude. so i said, what are u complaining about? slightly irritated.... and then she went OFF. she gets really mean and has no idea how to handle comments that are directed towards herself, and she starts going off about how rude i am and how unappreciative i am and all this crap that had nothing to do w/ the original argument.

sometimes she is just really Hateful and makes me feel like i'd rather have nothing to do with her.

but of course the next day we just pretend nothing happens, and now she wants me to do her hair and crap. how ANNOYING.

at one time when I was less informed, but when I learned that such arguments were power trips and nothing more I kept my power by not getting to arguments. My answer to such a person is " I can accept that is what you think" guaranteed to take wind out of any sail
