why do ppl like god so much???

i believe in god but ppl act like they need him. i always thot i needed him and still do but i wonder what would happen to us if god just suddenly disappeared???

I myself don't believe in god. I think that people rely on something they can't prove is there versus their reality. Maybe they just don't want to face what's real and what's there? I can understand why you, and others, believe in god, but I also can't. It seems so silly to ask for guidance from a savior that you can't prove is real. Like asking the air to make you a boat. It just doesn't work. People should learn to rely on themselves, rather than all these deites we hear of.

People like God because he gives a feeling of security I think. They don't feel alone if they can pretend there is a higher power looking out for them.

Because God helps people get through things. I wasn't really involved with God or Church but now that my husband is in Iraq, I can see why people would be so involved with God. Because He gives them faith and courage to deal with things that they don't think they can handle themselves on their own.
