Bekah...it takes self-discipline and yeah, tough when you first leave home and go off to university. I make a nice plan for the weekend, like out on Friday night to dinner and some music...then if I have not studied I do not let myself go. Just keep at it, you will get the hang of it.

Don't consider it a separate formal activity and you won't procrastinate so much. I mean take your book along to your appointments or wherever and spend just 15 minutes reviewing a few pages. The time all adds up during the day. Go to the coffee shop bookstore and sit in a comfortable chair to read up on your course subject while actually taking some notes and doing some homework. The atmosphere might be more conducive to study then a boring old library can be. Study for big exams with a few friends who are as serious as you in working the problems out. Try the Schaum's outline series for extra problem solving help.

I sometimes ask myself the same question. Allot time for you to just study. I usually turn on some jazz and just lay down with my books. Dive deeper into what you are studying. Go online research the subject. But most of all you have to want to take the time to study.

Set yourself a study time for each day, preferably at the same time and just do it. Refuse to make any plans for this time. Tell yourself that this is my study time and just do it. If you ever want to get ahead later on, you had better knuckle under and stick to it. If you screw up your grades now, you may not have another chance.

Think of where u want to be in ur life and remind urself that u will not be there unless u study hard and get through school.
Also, set a specific time and date for u to study and do not let anything take that time away from u.

ok, you need to take a look at yourself and ask what you want in life..i'll tell you what, you want to be the best there is, a winner..you know, in this big world there is no room for second place...tell yourself you need to be the best and that you won't settle for less..
then imagine the topic you are studying, say, biology...imagine a lab full of the top biologists in the world working on a common problem...then see yourself knowing exactly what they are talking about....you tell them the solution..it is a great feeling to be the smartest....make yourself enjoy what you are studying, you will never be sorry...

set a small goal - like reading a chapter or something - and then when you've reached that goal, give yourself a small reward.
doing by amount of work done is a better idea than hours spent on working since studying is easily distracted.
