Unless the striaghtener is specifically for wet or dry hair, make sure to blow dry or air dry your hair befor you straighten it. When you straighten your hair while it's wet with a straightener that's specifically for dry hair, you are burning the hair and stripping it of even more natural oils than it should. Always make sure to deep conditioner your hair 1-3 times a week so as not to diminish it of all it's nutrients and oils, and also always use heat protection products when excessively straightening your hair. So, to answer your question more specifically, let your hair dry before straightening it (unless, of course, the straightener is for wet hair). Hope that helped!!!

I would suggest to only use heating tools once a week, or just on special occasions. But what I do is use a deep conditioner, like the one made by K-Pac. Then I put in some straightening cream or gel and wait about 20 minutes before I start blow drying. After blow drying, I then straighten it with a good straightener. I find that my hair is softer if I don't use heating tools too much.

Wet seems to work better for most people. I tried it dry and it also worked but it was a lot more work using the straighting iron after blowdry. I think that doing it wet would be more healthier, but that is just a guess. Try it both ways and see which way you like it better. Good luck.

towel dry it, then spray it all with heat protectant spray. Section ur hair and blow dry each section with a brush until all ur hair is dry. Try and make ur hair as straight as possible when blow drying it as it means u won't have to straighten it as much.
Then section it all off again, this time go over it with the straightners, but make sure that u comb it before u straighten it. styling it as u go along. Then i would comb it over once. After tiolt ur head to the side so ur hair falls away from the head and straighten out any kinks. Also if u want volume i tip my head upside down and spray it with hair spray...stay for a couple of seconds then lift my head up again. i then use my fingers to like comb it threw. if u use a brush or comb the hairspray comes out. Hope this helps.

As far as I know, you are advised to straighten your hair while it's wet, because the effect lasts longer. But, if you want me to be sincere, I wouldn't encourage this operation, because it damages your hair, whether it's made while your hair is dry, whether while it's wet. So, take care of your hair, or you might end up without having your precious hair anymore. Or less than now. It is a friendly advice. Instead, you should try a new haircut, which would make you beautiful without having to ruin your hair.

With sympathy,
Larisa

You shouldnt put too much heat in your hair at one time. If you are going to blow dry it I wouldn't straighten it right away. If you wanna just straighten it you should try towel drying it. This question is tricky because it really depends on your hair; it's texture, and the types of chemicals, styles, and treatment it's used to.

Straighten your hair when it is dry. Don't blowdry it dry, becuase your hair will dry out too much.

It is better to blow dry and then straighten. Straightening wet hair will only damage it more.

Well you definately dont want to straighten your hair wet because that will just fry it.
So, i'd go with blow drying it, then straighten it. Or let it dry naturally:]

Blowdry your hair straight. Put some product in it to make it less frizzy then blowdry as you pull it straight with a round brush.
