I found 50 euros, so that's over 70 dollars xD And I kept it, the chance that that person was coming back was quite small, it was in a big mall. If I would have left it there someone else probably would've took it. If it was in a wallet I would've returned it though.

Well ive never found any money in the street! :(
But one time, my g/f lost her purse with £200 in it while at the shops and she made it all the way home before she noticed. As soon as she did, she went back to the shops fully expecting it to be long gone but an old man tapped her on the shoulder and asked her if she had lost a purse. She told him she had and he pulled out her purse with the £200 and everything else still in it! And just the day before this happened, she had noticed someone leave a cafe and not pick up their mobile phone off the table so she had followed them and returned it. Just goes to show what goes around comes around!

I once pretended I'd found a £5 note on a street but actually it was in a Churhc hall after a jumble sale and thought that I would get told off if I told the truth. My mum made me hand it into the police but i felt guilty when I got it back after it wasn't claimed.

$1700.00! I was picking my husband up from work downtown and he saw a wallet in the street gutter. We stayed put for a moment and checked for ID. It appeared to be an asian young man with an address from a neighboring city. We immediately checked the coffee shops and businesses in the immediate vicinity but saw no one. We felt a little panicked for this person. We drove to the police station and turned it in. The police were incredulous, thought they were being set up. I believe the wallet got back to it's owner.
