being nice is not a bad thing but sometimes being "too nice" can be. It's not that you are "nice" that is the problem. sometimes "nice" people try too hard, are a bit needy, dependant and give too much too soon. that can make some people uncomfortable and make you appear desperate even if you are not.
there is nothing wrong with being nice but what I have learned in life is that people who overwhelm me with their "niceness" in the beginning are not always sincere.
make sure you are being nice in an appropriate way like for example buying a woman perfume is nice, but bringing it on a first date is too much.
it's subtle and "nice" people usually cant see or understand how being nice can push people away.
if you are the most dependable and nice guy when you're relationship with a woman is already stable then that's a good thing.
it's a hard thing to explain......i hope this makes some sense

Well, if I found a guy that would treat me right...I wouldn't let him go for nothing. Some women like to be treated badly, it has sommething to do with their past and parental examples. And then again, a man like you loves too much and you probably attract the "wrong" kind of woman. I love too much and every relationship that I have had, including a marriage, it was very very bad because I was too nice and would always give in and forgive everything. You'll eventually find someone who is looking for a man just like you, that will appreciate you and love you unconditionally and I know that I will find a man like you some day too! Good luck and be patient...you'll have a heard of bitches pass, before you find your princess!

Young women my friend are a pain in the bottom and would rather you robbed banks and stole cars than looked after them and did nice things for them.
As women get older like in their 30s they start to appreciate the nice things and are more appreciative of good things like a man with a job and a caring nature.
My advice is stay single and have some fun til you're older then find yourself a nice divorcee that wants looking after and will appreciate a nice caring bloke like yourself.

Women aren't opposed to 'nice' guys, but we want a bit of a challenge. We like guys to have that little something that we can't quite work out. But you can't be all that bad or you wouldn't have had anyone in the first place, right? You just need to find what your alluring quality is and try to maximise it when you meet someone. Remember, if she knows you inside-out in the first couple of weeks of knowing you, then there isn't the fun of finding it out is there?

it hardly sounds fair, does it? but that's what some girls want. i like nice guys who treat women right, and i really dont think it's fair at all that you have trouble keeping someone when you're the one who deserves them...but don't worry, the type of girl who dumps you because you're "too nice" probably isn't worth it anyway...and you nice guys are the ones who end up with a nice wife, a happy marriage and a great life...don't lose faith in women, we're not all like that! good luck!

I agree, wome want a challenge as men do. u do seem nice & women tend to go for just friends for nice guys. My ex was the same, & although I love him more than anybody, it didn't work out
there has to be some chemistry, & there has to be passion. Please don't take my word for it, I'm no expert, but be a bit more manly, take charge & value yourself. I totally agree with pamcake. & JW, if that's the case. Draw your boundaries & think if it's works out great but if not that's ok too.

You will always have lots of female friends if you're nice but women want to be with somebody who know's their own mind, has direction + discipline, a bit of a rebelious streak and a commanding air about them (as long as it's not used for meaness) Of course, I'm just describing a few qualities of my perfect man - It may just be that you havnt found someone who you're perfect for yet. Don't worry tho - We're not here to find a partner, we're here to make something of ourselves, so don't worry about it!

Maybe its not you at all.. Maybe you just keep choosing mates that need you in some way and once you fill the void in them they have the strength to be treated like dirt again? **shrug** In no way am I saying that you should be a mean guy. Just take your time with your relationships Cant rush a good thing IN ALL WAYS. don't spoil your women, but don't ignore her either.
