Capnemo is an idiot, in every sense of the word.
First, his reference to NASA's picture is proof of global warming (notice the 200-year trend upwards?). The fact is, a single degree change in the average earth temperature is the difference between the ice age and now.
Second, his reference to a "secular scientific article that shows the earth was actually warmer" is not only irrelevant, but he obviously didn't read the article. The article was written in 1999, whereas the past 6 years have been the warmest on record. Further, the article states:
"Human-induced global warming is the raising of surface temperatures due to increased atmospheric concentrations of CO2 and other greenhouse gases."
and
"It is reasonable to conclude that global warming is a real threat,..."
??? How does this article go against global warming?
Third, his reference to the Harvard study is completely ignorant of the followup. 5 editors resigned in protest from the journal it was published in, including the managing editor. Harvard professors disagree with the findings, and the author of the study, Willie Soon, is a paid consultant for the George C. Marshall Institute, a Washington non-profit organization that opposes limits on carbon dioxide emissions.
See reference here: http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=348723
Stop spreading lies, capnemo. The Earth is warming, mankind is responsible, and we need to do something about it.

No it's not global warming. Global warming is sketchy at best. Below is a link taking you to a NASA chart showing the temperature change from 1880 to 2005. Since 1880 the earth's temperature has risen less than 7/10 of 1 degree C. See for yourself here: http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2005/2005cal_fig1.gif
There are numerous charts all over the internet showing the same. The fact that people choose to ignore the facts of these charts shows that they have an agenda to convince the masses of something that really is not happening.
In fact here's a link to a secular scientific article that shows the earth was actually warmer in the past than it is today.
http://www.msu.edu/course/isp/203/raeburn_old/fulltext/class9.pdf
And here's an article from a Harvard University study that says: "Such claims have now been sharply contradicted by the most comprehensive study yet of global temperature over the past 1,000 years. A review of more than 240 scientific studies has shown that today's temperatures are neither the warmest over the past millennium, nor are they producing the most extreme weather - in stark contrast to the claims of the environmentalists.
The review, carried out by a team from Harvard University, examined the findings of studies of so-called "temperature proxies" such as tree rings, ice cores and historical accounts which allow scientists to estimate temperatures prevailing at sites around the world.
The findings prove that the world experienced a Medieval Warm Period between the ninth and 14th centuries with global temperatures significantly higher even than today."

I hope that helps...

I wouldn't listen to me because I'm hired by the oil companies.. hahaha
And on the other side, stop listening to the proponents of global warming hired by the research lobbyists.
On the true side of things. The whether is random and literally inconceivable as are the flucuations of the earth. I think I'm not stepping out on a limb to say that the earth has gone through uncalculable temperature increases and decreases in its time over any period of years you want to take into account. And as the earths temperature naturally shifts higher or lower of course whether patterns are going to be affected. So why the earth may be in a warming trend it is nothing but a natural cycle.
On a side note; Its in my very humble opinion that so called environmentalists in general are very selfish people who would like to keep things exactly as they are, as if the earth has ever stayed a constant in its extremely long lifetime. Temperature changes, whether cycles, as well as plant and animal extinctions existed long before man was thought of..... how can we blame ourselves? How would we even exist right now if these things didn't happen naturally?

You r wrong Global warming is one of the major Topic Today. But I agree That there r still some People who r not worried at all Comfort is the main thing for them to live I don't Know the reason for this the reason may be that they don't Know about it or something else.. but the fact is Global warming is only because of us BUT ITS NEVER TOO LATE The main reasons for global Warming is generally because of depletion in no of Trees,Increase in Population (which results in Conversion of forests to Cities etc) ,using resources in an nonjudicial manner and release of CO2 in the atmosphere just because of human activities like using AC's 24 hours nonstop, burning Coal Which results in release of carbon monoxide as well as CO2, If we try to control ourselves then i'm sure we can reduce this.

Very good question. The explanation for this weather is a lying liberal scam! It's seriously upsetting. Anyone with any intelligence at all knows that it was cold as hell last year, and that Global Warming (if it even is real) is a GRADUAL process, and this year's warm weather is just a single season El Nino. Liberals are just shameless in their ignorant propaganda.

Read similar questions all over the place. No it's not. The data supports a 1 degree Celsius rise in global temperature over the last 100 years and not a 25 degree Celsius change. It's just El Nino.

global warming i believe is due to the new island about to be born in pacific a major volcano is heating the waters there and is also causing all the earthquakes in Indonesia and is a cause n effect of many of the major storms throw out the world , many of the winds blow to north in pacific which is warming icecaps. and this volcano is the result of the magnetic poles are about to flip last time it happened was 700,000 years ago about the time the Neanderthal man disappeared.

that plus el nino this year
"capnemo's" charts all show an upward trend even he cannot deny; his "scientific article" itself says that global warming is happening and due largely to humans (did he even read this?!?)
his last piece of evidence is quite so. however, it is refuting only the claim of "unprecedented" temperature increases (and due to looking only at the last couple hundred years) and also citing the Middle Ages to be of plenty in harvest...however, these weather changes of today are showing increasing drought to areas that usually get plenty of rain and so i'm inclined still to think they are different in kind

It's global warming... stop listening to the debunkers hired by the oil companies to make you believe it isn't happening and, if it is.... then it's not their fault.
