From my experience they care for 1 of 2 reasons. They honestly love you, and are unable or unwilling to love you the way you want and need them to. Or it's a ploy to have you as a back up plan in case all else fails in other relationships.

Because they really hope they've left you bomb-damaged and not wanting to ever have a meaningful relationship again. Either that or they regret breaking up with you and still hope you will come begging to them to give it another go.

a good ex that really loves you starts acting all brotherly. sometimes it is because he still loves you, and sometimes it is because he truly does not want you to get hurt. But most of the time he is jelous.

Because they're jealous that you've gotten over them or that you're moving on. They may not have wanted to be with you, but they also like to think that you still want to be with them.

who care about them now, maybe it jealous and when they dump us, guys think no one else would date us and maybe i will come by sometime for fun and dump her the next day stupid guys they always try to find someone better their gf
