Well I can not possibly answer for every person that decided to convert to Islam today.
I believe it has something to do with how pious Muslims are. Almost everyone who claims to be a Muslim seeks to learn the language of the Qur'an in order to read it. Almost every Muslim knows how to defend Muhammed and the Qur'an. Almost every Muslim prays 5 x's a day. Muslims are very committed to the statues of their faith.
When you consider many other religions, and especially Christians there are a larger percentage who do not adhere to the practices of the Christian faith. Many Christians are mered in mediocrity and this is a turn off for someone seek a REAL faith.

Islam is a religion that's very sure of itself. It has an agenda and a purpose. Western Christianity has become rather stale - it holds little promise like it once did. Islamics have a "mission" to spread their faith and to create and Islamic world, Christianity has lost that desire. People of faith want something to believe in, so they find Islam attractive.
I am an atheist, so this is what I see from an outside perspective.

Don't know if you're question is accurate, but the failure of Christianity has a lot to do with it.
