i am a kenyan of ethiopian origin and seem to know a little more on this topic.ethiopia has one of the oldest christian traditions and has to protect itself.but also the reality which most media does not want to say is that 55% of ethiopians are muslim and not predominantly christian as people tend to believe.the basis of his conflict is the radical group that took over mogadishu and threatened to annex somali speaking regions of ethiopia and could spead to neighboring countries djibouti and kenya in the quest for greater somaliland.25% of kenyan territory is inhabited by ethnic somalis and would be a next target for the islamists.it is not a religious war as we are made to believe.east africa has been multireligious, multicultural and mulltiracial for centuries and been peaceful until foreign influence from the west and arabia started being felt and use of proxies.
