We want a very simple Church wedding. I want to make most decorations myself. Do you have any good ideas?

Congrats! I have tons of money saving ideas!
The dress, you can probably find fairly cheap at David's Bridal--they have excellent sales, or you can get a white prom dress, most time they are as pretty or prettier then wedding dresses.

Photos-- find someone who owns and can use a digital camera, see if they will either make this their gift to you or not charge you a lot. If you decide to go with a pro then ask to see other wedding photos, and also ask if you can have the names of other people that have used them, I know many people have gone with a pro and have gotten poor quality. With a pro it's almost buyer beware. When you have a friend they have your best interest at heart and are not just in it for the paycheck.

Reception- again if people from like your work or friends and family see if they will make this their gift to you, go simple cake, mints, nuts and punch. This is what I did and saved a lot of money, it was a gift from my sister in law to be.

Attendants- only have one on each side, see if the girl you're gonna use if she's already got a dress maybe from a previous wedding or another occasion. With the guys most guys have suits.

Decorations- you can do a lot with tea light candles and mirrors.

Flowers- go buy silk flowers and make your own bouquets, this saves a lot of money!

If ya need anymore let me know! My wedding cost maybe $500 at the most.

Go to Oriental Trading Company. Or...go to google and search the web for "Discount Wedding Supplies". Or you can search for the specific things you are looking for. I found almost everything cheaper on the web. I will take some more time than just buying the first thing you see, but you will save lots of money in the long run....then you can go on a beautiful honeymoon!!

Congrats!

Order things off ebay. There are so many things on there at a reasonable price. I am getting most of my reception decor from ebay and some decorations for the ceremony there too. Also you can create an account on www.theknot.com and there are tons of pics and ideas about decorations and do it yourselfs.

Make sure the food is good. That's the number one complaint/compliment I've heard at weddings.
