No, it's not a good idea. When it clicks off, round to the nearest nickel or dime at most. Trying to top it off all the way can cause spills and can mess up your emissions control system (vapor recovery circuit.)

It's not a good thing to do, you stand a reasonable chance of spilling some when you drive off and causing you ro someone else to skid. You also stand a chance of getting liquid gas into the evaporative emissions system, that could kill it and that would be expensive. If you fill up in the summer and then don't drive far you are likely to have fuel leaking out as it warms up and expands. You should only fillit until it cuts off, unless you are a racing pit crew...

Topping off can be dangerous if gas spills out, which can occur as you pump and when the gas expands due to heat. Best to stop after the first click.

No, it's not "dangerous" but you do run the risk of over running your tank. Some owners manuals will tell you not to due to a certain charcoal filter location on the tank fill tube, and that it may ruin it. I've seen this, but don't understand it. I'd say let the pump shut itself off, and be done.

Its not recommended. I've seen someone spillling gas while driving thru a curve with moderate speed.
Besides.. always driving with a full tank means moving more mass, wearing out breakpads and so on .. why ?
if i know i'm just driving short distances i just fill it half.

I don't know how dangerous it is. But it is harmful to your cars emotions. It wont let your vapors to breath. You can all so fill your purg canister and that's never go. You might start to get lights on your dash. But a full tank wont explode.

You should leave a little room for the gasoline to expand, especially in the summer time.
