Forget for a moment the arguement as to what is causing climate change. Even if we were to all agree that the melting glaciers and Polar Ice Caps weredue to natural changes, should we be trying to figure something out that we can do? Even if it is natural shouldn't we be concerned? How can those that say 'it's just nature' shrug and walk away from the problem.

Consider this, when the Polar Cap is gone, Greenland's ice follows. When that goes estimates put Atlantic water levels high enough that we will not need to worry about the 9/11 memorials. That site in Manhatten will be under water.

Melting polar ice caps are such a large-scale problem that I don't think there's anything we can do that would help significantly. If it is indeed a human-caused problem, then we can start changing our lifestyles to help diminish pollution. If it's natural, then it really is nature and sadly, there's not much we can do. We, as a generation, just have bad luck in the fact that we are the first to see these disasters in the making. Earth always has had its "bad" cycles...the Ice Age, ecetera. If global warming is natural, we're just on the opposite side of that spectrum now.

Our world is constantly changing. Anyone who thinks that we can keep things the same forever is a fool.

Humans are part of that change, whether it be for the better or worse. We are not some outsiders who are interfering with some pristine environment. We are part of the environment. The things we do affect it and, it affects the things we do.

If the icecaps really are melting fast enough to sink Manhattan in our lifetime, then there is likely very little we can do to stop it. People will adapt and survive. We always have.

We can't avoid it. Its part of the planets natural cycle. We are but a gnat on the windshield of the planets drive through life. Think about how many species have existed and gone extinct before us. How long has homo sapiens been around? a hundred or so thousand of years? The planets been going for 4.5 billion.

WRONG! How long did YOU serve in the armed forces? I did my time that I may have the freedom of speech, et al, and the fact is you are partially correct. If we got rid of all the democrats there would be harmony instead of discord. And libertarians also.
