This 6'2" young man is healthy with a normal lifestyle which includes lots of computer activities and music but very little sports activity. His diet has been limited as described since childhood and I have very little influence on the situation as his stepfather for the past three years. I have three grown children of my own from a previous marrriage and experience tells me this diet is not good for the short term and more importantly for the long term. I am seeking suggestions that I could pass along by way of his Mother

It's called parental control.

show him pictures of kids dying with leukemia, that will do it.
he should have fruits grains nuts and vegetables and as Little meat as possible.
the mother should not bribe him, just get in that kitchen and make the above mentioned appetizing and equally delicious.

good luck!

Pizza and french fries means he's taking in a serious amount of sodium which may not cause any problems right now medically . . . but later on down the line this "diet" will come back to haunt him in heart disease, high blood pressure and access fatty tissue around organs. Too much salt intake is probably already causing him to be very sleepy and hyper at the same time. Basically what I guess would be considered jittery and nervous acting. I think it can lead to depression issues too.

A young man his age . . . you'd be very hard pressed to make him believe anything he does could cause damage to his body or lifestyle later on. It's a pretty self centered age. They think they're bullet proof and bad things happen to other people.

well im no parent (yet) but i have a messed up family life at home where i am the man of the house and pay all bills and take care of everyone...anyways, i suggest to parents to train their kids to eat healthy meals growing up, and then when their older introduce them to fast food as 'treats'...that way they are used to eating healthy with all their vitamins etc and end up eating like that and not liking some of the bad food...also, show them the movie "super size"...believe it or not it helps...it shows all the ups and downs as a man sacrifices himself to eating 3 fast food meals daily for 30 days...it will definitly teach them a lesson and lean them to never want to eat the stuff again...good luck

Don't allow pizza and french fries in the house. Lean meat, vegetables and fruit. I can't believe anyone would feed their child ONLY those two items.

this kid is slowly killing himself.. he won't live to be 30 if he continues on like that.. tell them they need to get rid of all those fatty foods and start getting him some exercise.. buy Dance Dance Revolution for him.. that's a fun way to exercise if he's into video games..
