I guess I would have to humble myself and say that I am sorry that I did not believe. And if he is as forgiving and loving as we all have been led to believe than he will understand that it's hard to know what to believe in this world, there are so many religions all claiming to be the right one..and so many theories on the way we all came about and no real proof of our beginings one way or the other.so in my life..I was just trying to be the best person I could be. And seeing That agape (Unconditional love) is the only faith that I follow, I would hope that he would be as forgiving of me for not believing as I am of him for not making it a little easier to see what is real. and I would hope that he forgives me for the lack of faith,,,,as I would forgive him for letting us all suffer so he could prove a point.

Sticking specifically to your question and suspending my disbelief
that the being could prove unequivocally that it was the god... I wouldn't do anything. I already lead a wholesome, loving and wonderful life, I treat people very well and try to work on clearing myself of my biases and judgments. The fact that there was a god would not alter or change my behavior at all. Because I am atheist does not mean that I don't act as god intended, nor does it make me an anti-social, atheist, misanthrope. My highest ideal is to be the best for my self and fellow being.

Not an atheist, but I'd roll over and wake up, because what you describe could only be a dream.
"God" is the cosmos. That's you and I. Everybody who ever lived, and everything that ever existed, in all realms, through space and time. The source of us is God. And God doesn't make house calls. Doesn't send sons to die or torment people eternally for breaking laws. The only laws God has are the laws of science, nature and physics. This is how God communicates with us. God doesn't intervene or interfere, doesn't judge anyone or save anyone. These things we do to and for ourselves.
There is, absolutely, a connection to "God" within yourself. You can either externalize and belittle yourself for being a lowly sinful human like all religious persons do -- or you can embrace that "godness" inside yourself and celebrate it as your potential to grow spiritually (as, incidentally, the rabbi Jesus apparently did).

it seems there are a lot of people who just "imagine" god. like you. because he may not exist. if god came down to me right now I'd understand that he is not the god that christians or anyone else are praying to. My belief is that if there is a god, he doesn't know that I exist, and he doesn't care or can't even hear if I pray or not.

1. "What is your name?"
Yahweh - Goto 2.
Any other name - Goto 5.
2. "Was Jesus the Messiah?"
Yes - Goto 3.
No - Goto 4.
3. "Liar. You broke your own promise, he didn't fulfill the prophecies. I'd rather go to Hell than deal with a monster like you who says one thing and does another." [end]
4. "Cool. Mind splitting off a small piece of yourself that can walk and talk with me? I've got so many questions and I think best when I'm pacing or walking with a friend." [end]
5. "Do you have a hell of some sort that is eternal?"
Yes - Goto 6.
No - Goto 4.
6. "Not much of an all-loving, all-just, and all-merciful god are you then? Infinite punishment for finite error is neither loving, just, nor merciful. You're not worthy of me." [end]

I greet him with plethora of Questions,of which one would be,
Could there be any possibly remaining difference between him and me, if he ever comes down to meet me?
He then prooves the fact that he is just another living being with limitation of form, shape and colour or in other words he too is caught in 3 dimensions and time.

I would ask him if he was so wonderful and powerful and loving to all his "children" why he lets so much bad stuff happen in this world, and i would not except the answer " so we can learn compassion" becasue if was real and had the power to create this world and all the people in it, them im sure his mighty brain would come up with another way to be taught compasion, instead of wars, murders, death ect....
I am not being rude to any believers, its your call, but i myself see no proof or reason to believe!

You wish. Some people have been wishing this for a long time and constantly ask atheists this question. What if, what if what if?
I could ask what if too and guess what, what if means nothing when they are about nothing and so far your god is about nothing, being that your god has gone back to where he come from which is precisely no where.

In response to Erin, I do agree with mostly what you're saying... if there is a God, there isn't enough evidence to really prove he exists. I guess if I saw him, I'd ask something dumb like, "So, when did you create the dinosaurs?"

If really were god, I'd know there is a god. Simple as that. You see, your beliefs are based on faith, not reason. I don't have a belief, I have a rational understanding. When I encounter evidence, I accept the evidence as factual.
However, the likelihood of such a thing happening is zero. Really.
